Underwriting Guidelines & Carrier Information

Leverage our underwriting expertise. We have extensive experience evaluating risk and strong negotiation skills which help our team work on your behalf with carriers. Our goal is to ensure each policy receives a fair and competitive price that is aligned with established underwriting guidelines.

General Underwriting Guidelines

  • All job classes and phraseologies must be eligible under our guidelines.
  • All carriers require a minimum premium.
  • A detailed business profile must be provided.
  • Effective date will be the date the application is received by fax or email by Agency Resources. (Backdating is considered on a case by case basis if a loss has not occurred.)
  • Loss runs are required upon binding of coverage.

  • Multi-state operations are eligible as long as states are eligible

Most Common Reasons for Rejection

  • At least one class code is not eligible
  • Class or premium on application is inconsistent with rating data sheet
  • Unfavorable loss experience
  • Transportation risks and trucking risks are ineligible
  • Answers to the general information questions are not acceptable
  • Applicants currently coming out of a PEO

Underwriting Guidelines

  • Acord 130 application with detailed description of operations
  • Premium and payroll history
  • Submissions required 30-60 days prior to inception as carrier conducts safety inspections prior to quoting
  • Supplemental applications required for Trucking, USL&H, and Maritime risks
  • Coverage will not be backdated
  • Multi-state operations available; risks with exposures in any state not listed above cannot exceed over 25% exposure
  • Five years currently values loss report required upon submitting to carrier
  • Current experience mod worksheet required upon submitting to carrier

  • Loss runs required for review
  • 24-hour operations considered on a limited basis

  • Loss ratio exceeding 50% for the previous three year period
  • Transportation risks and Trucking risks are ineligible
  • Applicants currently coming out of a PEO
  • Accounts with undocumented gaps in coverage
  • Risks with employees that predominantly work from home
  • Must have employees other than owner
  • < 10% Delivery Exposure
